php-cli >>redirect

Using php-cli 4.2.2 on Windows XP Pro. php-cli script.php >>file.log works as expected from the command console; the script's output is sent to file.log. However, when run from the Task Scheduler, the output scrolls through the console window and file.log is untouched. The task is running with the necessary permissions, and nothing is recorded in the event logs. The script is definitely running though. Any ideas?
