Using Proxy Server

Hello, I tried the function "fsockopen" it shows error the possible cause may be due to the reason that i am testing the script on an internet connection served by a proxy server. So how can i use "fsockopen" function while accessing internet through a proxy server. eg : $fp = fsockopen("www.php.net", 80, &$errno, &$errstr, 30); this returns error, What changes are needed in the parameter list?
