Actually that wasn't it, but thanks. I've been wrestling with these environment variables since I upgraded to php4 but I finally got it after much searching through the manual, FAQ's, ect. on php.net. The issue was (or seems to be) that when the "variables_order" is set to "GPCS" in php.ini, that last "S" they snuck in requires you to declare getenv("HTTP_HOST") instead of just using $HTTP_HOST for all such variables. I hate to admit this, but the answer is in the php.ini file (RTFM) which is provided as php.ini-optimized in the binary dist. I SHOULD have read and understood the file before I installed it as my php.ini file, but I'm a busy guy, yadda, yadda, and well - I didn't. (I just ass-u-me-ed that it would be the same as php3.ini...) So, thanks for the help anyway. I would bet this happens to a lot of people so hopefully the online documentation can better address the php4 configuration in the future. b _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
