Hello list,
I investigated the strange encounters with PHP4.0.2 further, maybe someone
can reproduce that or give me a clue what could I've been done wrong.
I compared 4.0.2 to 4.0.1pl2, by exchanging all .exe, .dll and .jar files,
but never changing any configuration files. Here's what I got using Apache
1.3.12 and Sun's JDK1.1.8:
4.0.1pl2: The jawt example didn't seem to work. All other servlet examples
and java examples worked fine
4.0.2: The jawt example works, but only if it is getting called using
Tomcat. I soon found out, why: Some application must have installed a
java.exe 1.3.0 on my machine, and jver.php shows that tomcat uses this
version. If I do not use Tomcat, jver.php tells me that I am in fact using
1.1.8, and jawt.php doesn't work. All other servlet examples seem to work,
however I get this "duplicate function" warning in the Tomcat log window,
and Tomcat crashes after having served some pages.
I know that there might be some kind of misconfiguration on my machine, but
the fact that 4.0.1pl2 works just fine and that I have similar problems on
another machine using JDK1.2.2 (cf. posting from Wednesday) might hint that
there could be a problem with the changes in 4.0.2 (or with the Win32
binaries). So I am asking everyone on the list who does use the java support
or the servlet support on their Win32 machines to try 4.0.2 and post the
results here.
Regards
Christian
