On 2000-09-11, Ron Woods stated:
} How do you get the php_oci and php_orcale dll files to work on a WinNT and
} Netscape Server using the php as cgi? It appears the you have to run a
} compile to create a binary for the Apache server. Is it the same for the
} IIS and Netscape? If so, what is needed.
Go grab php4.0.2 from http://www.php4win.de/ and all the oci8_
and oracle_
extensions are included and compiled for you.
I'll [with Andy's help ;) ] be posting a How To for Oracle/PHP/apache
users who need to figure this whole mess out. You can run php as a module
or as cgi [bit more stable as cgi under win32]. You do need to add a few
lines to your httpd.conf file, which would be similar to your Netscape
server [you need to pass along two environmental vars to your w3 server -
your $ORACLE_HOME and your $TNS_ADMIN ; once the w3 server knows about
them, the oci8 extensions should work fine.
