Sirs,
I don't have a 4k limit problem when I use Transact-SQL's READTEXT and
WRITETEXT command to transfer large data from SQL Server. Here's a sample
stored procedure that I wrote to extend to a boundless limit:
CREATE PROCEDURE retText
AS
DECLARE @pointervalue VARBINARY(16)
DECLARE @pointerlen int
SELECT @pointervalue = TEXTPTR(test), @pointerlen = DATALENGTH(test) from
mytest where id=1
READTEXT mytest.test @pointervalue 0 @pointerlen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
( Note the use of the DATALENGTH() function to get the limit of the text! )

Maurice,
Last time I check there was a problem with the module and PHP only spits
back 4k of text back. You should in theory be able to increase the limit
with the lines:
mssql.textlimit = 122880
mssql.textsize = 122880
in your .ini file but that didn't work for me. Frank M. Kromann
[fmk@swwwing.com] who helped develop the MSSQL module said he was working on
it and would let us know when it was fixed.
