session.save_handler under windows (Apache and php4.0.1.pl2)

Hello All,
Because I couldn't force session_destroy to work, i changed
session.save_handler. I've set it to "mm" - shared memory. Although
I'm not sure if "mm" means shared memory (I couldn't find it in
manual) I know now that with session.save_handler=mm sessions doesn't
work at all :-(
Is this php for windows issue? Or "mm" doesn't mean shared memory?
Anybody knows answers for my questions?
