Problem Connecting to Remote Oracle Server

I am running Oracle 8, Apache Web Server and PHP 4.0.3 on Windows NT. I can
connect to the Oracle database on the NT box without any problem. When ever
I tried to connect to another Oracle 8 database located on a Unix server, I
get the following error message: ORA-12145: TNS:could not resolve service
name....
I updated the tnsnames.ora file on the NT machine with the information of
the database I am trying to connect to. I can connect to the remote
databases using SQL+ and tnsping works as well.
Can someone help?
