Our site's running on IIS with PHP3 and MS SQL 7 via ODBC. I use a variety of forms to get things like news and content into our database. The forms are all self-reloading with PHP_SELF in order to be ready for the next article etc. It usually chugs along just fine, I hit the submit button and IE instantly reloads the form for another entry. Sometimes though, often when I'm using the form for a while, the form just hangs. That is, I hit submit and instead of reloading the progress bar goes along at a snail's pace and finally tosses up a blank html page instead of the form. We don't get any error messages from either PHP or SQL. Sometimes our host has to restart our ODBC connection and the forms work again. Today, when it happened, just for the sake of it I tried renaming the file via ftp and was told it was in use by another process. I'm assuming that process was the stuck ODBC connection. Is there anything I can do on the PHP end to reduce/stop this problem, or is it a fault with my hosts setup? Have any of you experienced this? Thanks. -- Ian Evans Digital Hit Entertainment http://www.digitalhit.com
