PHP Installation

Hi! I am starting to use PHP 4 for the first time and I need some help because I am not able to read my first PHP page. My first Installation is on my Win95 computer that I provided to update with Winsock 2. I installed Apache 1.3.14 (in the e:\programs\internet\apache directory) and PHP 4.0.3 (in e:\programs\internet\apache\php ). I put the Apache's subdir htdocs and cgi-bin in another disk inside the directory f:\apachedata and I defined a dir f:\apachedata\php. Apache works properly with standard html pages. After installing PHP I modified the httpd.conf file adding the following entries: ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "F:/ApacheData/cgi-bin/" ScriptAlias /php/ "F:/ApacheData/php/" AddType application/x-httpd-php .php AddType application/x-httpd-php .phtml Action application/x-httpd-php "e:/programs/internet/apache/php/php.exe" and I changed the php.ini only in the following setting extension_dir = e:/programs/internet/apache/php ;directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside When I try to load my test page (the classical echo ("...");) I receive two type of errors: a) when I have the PHP script only, in the Apache error log I find the following errors [Sun Oct 15 22:01:22 2000] [error] [client 90.0.0.11] f:/apachedata/php/phptest/prova.php is not executable; ensure interpreted scripts have "#!" first line [Sun Oct 15 22:01:22 2000] [error] [client 90.0.0.11] couldn't spawn child process: f:/apachedata/php/phptest/prova.php b) whilst when I add the first line in the script #!e:\programs\internet\apache\php\php.exe I find this error [Sun Oct 15 22:02:02 2000] [error] [client 90.0.0.11] Premature end of script headers: f:/apachedata/php/phptest/prova.php I made the same installation on a W2000 PC but I had the same results.
