I'm experiencing some strange and frustrating behaviour with my current
setup.. I'm running Win2K, IIS4, and php4 (this problems happens with btoh
the .exe and .dll versions)
I have something like this:
<?php
echo join("", file("http://localhost/"));
?>
Run from command line this works as expected (it goes to the web server on
my local machine and fetches the page and displays it)
Trying to access this file through IIS results in this:
Warning: file("http://localhost/") - No such file or
directory in <path to
my .php file> on line 5
However, if I change the line to something like
echo join("", file("http://yahoo.com/"));
it works fine and returns Yahoo's web page (through IIS). Any idea why this
would work for everything except my local machine? (Note: I've tried
replacing localhost with the domain name and IP address of my machine, and
get the same problem.) And why does it work from the command line and not
through IIS? Thanks for your help,
