Hi Mark,
I know the problem, but I never actually tested out a solution. What I
am figuring though is, that php.exe probably runs under the system
account and because of that the Admin does not have permission to kill
it.
What I would try is writing (or downloading one somewhere) a small
program that kills a given process. Then try running that as Admin on
php.exe. If it still gives you get access denied, then schedule the
program using the "at" command, because those run with the System
account, which should have the permission.
Now I am not sure if this works, but it is a guess.
Let me (probably some other people would like to know too) know what you
get or if you find a other solution.
Good Luck,
Florian

Hi people,
Im running PHP as CGI ( www.php4win.de <http://www.php4win.de> distro)
on
Apache (not as a service) on NT 4 server.
If i have a runaway PHP process i can see it in the task manager but i
cant
kill it. I get told that i dont have permission (at the terminal with
the
user who started the Apache app... which happens to be Administrator).
This
is generally because of a bad script in development but its still a
problem.
So is there any way to kill these PHP processes? I can envisage if we go
to
production with this and something goes wrong ill end up with PHP.exe's
all
sitting on the task list.
Also is there a way to look for these PHP.exe some how and kill them? I
was
thinking of having a script that ran each night to do a check up and
clean
up.
Thanks
