According to http://www.devshed.com, you should send a header
to override
the default text/html content-type before you output anything.
<?
header("Content-type: text/vnd.wap.wml");
echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\"?>\n";
...
?>

Put the following within your PHP script in a place where it will print
within your <head> declaration:
print "<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
charset=iso-8859-1\">";
You can then change the content type to text/wml (or whatever the
appropriate mimetype is).
That should tell the emulator that the document is of whatever mimetype you
specify, and it will deal with it appropriately.

Subject: [PHP-WIN] Wap vs. PHP
i'm trying to write a wml file for wap that will enable users to store
information on my server. i want to use php on the server side to use store
the info. however, i've written a php script that generates a wml file
instead of a html file, but the wap browser won't accept it.
when viewing the source of the document in the wap emulator it says that the
document received is of html/text format... do you have any idea of how i
can solve this?
any help appreciated
Michael
