Hello John (and of course everyone else in the great world of PHP),
thank you for your reply! The connection is a straight forward ora_logon() as
below:
-------
if($conn = ora_logon("logon_id@database_sid", "password")) {
/* SELECT and UPDATE stuff */
} else {
/* act on the failed connection */
}
-------
Note that the above connection code worked with the PHP3! And I can do both SQL
Plus and TNSPING toward the database in question.
In the previous PHP3 installation I had enabled the following extensions in
php3.ini:
extension=php3_oci73.dll
In the new PHP4 installation (php3.ini removed) the following are enabled in
php.ini:
extension=php_oracle.dll ; BOD
Tried adding the extension php_oci8.dll as well, but with no difference.
Do I need an oci73.dll for PHP4? Been looking for one but without any luck.
Thank you. :) Regards, bod
