I have made some progress regarding my reported problem/bug.
http://bugs.php.net/?id=6742
The problem as reported occurs on a W2K server machine if I run
php.exe < mailtest.php
OR open mailtest.php within PHPEd and run from there.
However, so I have just discovered, if I load this script as a web page in a
browser, it runs OK !!
Can anyone explain why this script may work via a web browser but not
via PHPEd or the command line?
All other scripts that I have written in PHP work all ways and this
mailtest one DOES work all ways on NT - not on W2K server though.
I'd be grateful for any ideas or if anyone else running a W2K server
could confirm this for me.
The following works OK via a web page but not via the command line:
<?
echo "Doing mail\n"
mail("L.S.Davis@ex.ac.uk", "Hello", "Message\n","");
?>
The failure gives output:
Doing mail
<br>
<b>Warning</b>: Unknown error in <b>E:mailtest.PHP</b> on line
<b>3</b><br>
I have tried all sorts, including all suggested variations on the last header parameter,
various combinations of quotes etc
Thanks
Lee
