GD in PHP4(RC2) on Windows NT4

Hiya, I've been trying to install GD on my system, but without luck. So, I was wondering if you could help me. Seeing as GD isn't a normal part of PHP, I popped over to the GS web site, and downloaded the source for it. I've already got Borland C++ Compiler v5.5 (NOT the builder, just the compiling programs), but I haven't quite figured out how to work it. I've downloaded source for PHP (3 & 4), and a few others, trying to get it to work. I tried to copy across the php3_gd.dll and renamed it to php_gd.dll for PHP4, and uncommented the extension=php_gd.dll line, but that doesn't work. I'm a bit stuck. Any help?
