php_gd probs

has anyone out there got php_gd.dll working with : - NT40 (1381, SP5), Apache 1-3-14 PHP 4-04 Other modules seem to work fine (eg cybercash), although I've seen one or two funnies with MySQL (not consistently) but when I try to load this one and start the Apache service, I get the following errors: - (and the same for php_gd_gif.dll) 'The instruction at "0x6ff713c5" referenced memory at "0x000000005". The memory could not be "read" Click on OK and get an error, couldn't start the Apache service (Error 2186) type of message. If you know a solution or can think of anything obvious that I need to do (like are there any other libraries required or anything like that?) or if you know that there is a problem with this latest Apache update...
