The ISAPI version of PHP is currently reported as not being at 100%
production strength because it isn't!
That said, as far as I am aware, most of the core of php is at least
designed to be thread safe. The next release will include thread safe INI
code which Zeev committed just after Christmas. Note that as far as I am
aware, not all extensions are thread safe (sorry - I don't know which ones).
Many W2K users seem to be having good results with the ISAPI module. I and
some other NT4 users are unable to get it to work reliably - which is a pity
because there seems to be a performance advantage of maybe 0.5 seconds (gut
feel- not measured it!) per page view on my machine (233 Pentium2), over the
CGI version.
If you are using W2K, I suggest you give it a try, and if it works for you
use it.
Cheers
