Better yet, preg_replace("/\bboy\b/i", "girl", $myStr) or
ereg_replace("[[:space:][:punct:]]boy[[:space:][:punct:]]", "girl", $myStr).
Those would also match things like "boy,", "boy:" or "boy)".
