Untested. You will need MSVC at least of version 5 I think, and ownload all necessary things mentioned on http://www.php.net/version4/win32build.php, as well as Apache source. Compile Apache, add <apachesrc>\include into include directories, <apachesrc>\CoreR and <apachesrc>\ApacheR into library directories (provided you build a Release version, not a Debug, then it'd be, I assume, CoreD and ApacheD), and compile PHP. Oh well. I didn't try this on w9x, but this works for me on NT.
