Hi,
If you don't want to get mad browsing configuration files, you can open
Dial-Up Networking icon from "My Computer". Then click Connection from the
menu bar, Preferences and at the bottom of the Standard tab there are two
radio buttons. You have to select the one that tells not to use dial-up
networking for browsing local servers. I'm sorry if the name of the menu
choices are not correct but I have Win98 in Italian and I don't remember the
exact name of the options in the English version
hope this helps.
If this doesn't work, you have to modify httpd.cnf file as explained in
Chris message.

thanks
Just do a find on httpd.conf and it'll tell you where it is. I couldnt tell
you since people tend to install Apache on their computers in different
directories. Mine's located in the c:\program files\apache
group\apache\conf\ folder.
