HELP !!! Need to build my own dll for php4 in win32

Does any one has any documentations on how to build your own dll for php4. I searched the php.net site and there isn't any useful info. In php4, mysql is now a built in module and msql is a dll ( I think ). I studied the two codes but it was totally confusing. My understanding is I have to build my own dll and include the header file in the php.exe source code. The question is what do I need to put in this header file (must be Zend compliance, I think) and do what do I need to put in the orginal source file. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
