Leave your php3.ini in your php3 directory and leave your php.ini in the php4 dir. You dont have to put php ini your path either. I've tested this with PWS, IIS and APache on various win32 setups. mn -----Original Message----- From: Brkic Svemir [mailto:svemirb@yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2000 3:26 AM To: php-windows@lists.php.net Subject: PHP4 on Windows 98 (together with PHP3) Hello! I have a Xitami server installed on my Windows 98, and it works well with the standard installation of PHP3. I just downloaded the latest binaries for PHP4, and I tried to install them in a similar way, while also following the included ReadMe file. I copied Mscvrt.dll and php4ts.dll to windows\system. I copied php.ini-optimized to windows folder and renamed it to php.ini. I changed the extensions_dir to "C:/php4" (my binaries are there) I changed the autoexec.bat to pint to this ini instead of php3.ini. I changed the directions in default.cfg file in Xitami's folder (I changed all php3's to php's nad adjusted the folder names) Then I tried some simple php files, and they did not work. I tried to run them with the old engine (just by changing Xitami's cfg file), and they worked again. I restarted the computer a few times, tried changing this or that, but still PHP4 does not work. Any ideas? Svemir Brkic http://www.themestream.com/articles/70447.html (Web Design Kaleidoscope column)
