Guys, this idea of generating some white papers as those listed below is
great! I would be interested in writting about it. I had myself in the past
problems such as "Why use PHP on Windows?" or even "How to successfuly do
it!" so I would be gladly interested in contributing with some documentation
Let me know if someone really wants to go ahead with this idea, ok? I'm
ready to write one or more of the white papers suggested!
Regards,
Joao

Adham,
While i think this is a great idea, why not use the existing resources to
start with? Why not write some technical papers and see if the phpbuilder
guys will post em? Or get writing on the faqts site (www.e-gineer.com).
This is not ment to discourage, but its a lot of effort to maintain a site
so why not put your energies towards content? Let someone else worry about
about management, marketing etc. Just make sure you keep copyright and
copies of everything you do then once you have enough to fill a PHP-Windows
site then splinter.
Or you may want to ask someone to provide a win32 section on an existing
site.
Some suggestions for needed white papers;
1. Installing PHP on Win32 (With PWS, IIS and Apache)
2. Why use PHP on Win32?
3. Development server on Windows / Production Server on Unix
4. Using COM and other interfaces on Win32 (Maybe include Java and calls to
DLL's .. which i dont know how to do...)
5. Compiling PHP 4 and extensions on Win32 (VC++ seems the only way to go
here)
6. Stats on PHP versus ASP in Common tasks
7. Converting from ASP to PHP and vis a versa. (Examples of database calls
etc)
8. ODBC Vs Native DB interfaces (ie: Why use OCI8 when ODBC is there?)
Some suggestion for other PHP resources that are required;
1. Central repository for compilled PHP extensions. This would have to be by
PHP version.
2. Success stories of PHP on Win32.
Ill volunteer to help proof read and edit work, plus i could probably write
some stuff later in the year if you like.

Does anyone know of a website dedicated entirely to
PHP on the Win32 platform? If not, would anyone be
interested in helping out with such a site? It would
be a great central resource for developers using PHP
on Win32. It would also work to promote PHP as a
stronger alternative to ASP/JSP.
