There are no symlinks possible in SVN.My googling says sym links are available in SVN from 1.1 - at least on Unix. And I believe on Windows it would give you a copy of the linked files.
This is handled using svn:externals.OK.
The directory will show up when you check out the module using the SVN client.I installed SVN 1.5.5 and did indeed get the external repositories pulled when I ran:
svn --username=sixd co http://svn.php.net/php/php-src/branches/PHP_5_3/For the record, svn 1.4.2 failed to pull all the external repositories. Checkout fails at the end with:
Fetching external item into 'PHP_5_3/ext/^/php/pecl/bz2/branches/PHP_5_3'
svn: '.' is not a working copy
svn: Can't open file '.svn/entries': No such file or directory
Based on Hannes's comment about not using svn 1.5.1, I assume that
1.5.2 is the minimum client version needed, not that there was something
buggy just in 1.5.1?
