Hi Brian, The best piece of advice I can give you is to figure out the format that works best for your group. I spend my time in two cities. In Huntsville, AL, we tried evening meetups and had a poor turn out. Today, my company hosted a lunch for over 30 people to hear one of our engineers talk about how we use Docker. In Birmingham, lunch meetups don't work as well because of the bigger city sprawl. Our best meetups are in the evenings when people can converge in one place. They are often very casual and while only 5 or 10 people may show up, it's often a different mix every time. Figure out what works for your group and things will take off.
