Interesting project. Can you elaborate what parts it improves and do you
have any benchmarks already?
I went over the code very quickly and one small remark: In your
php_pco.h header you're having C++ code, please make sure that this
header is C compatible as it is included from main/builtin_functions.c
in case somebody does a static build. For this reason it is suggested to
keep only the minimal information there and add other declarations to
custom headers.
In config.m4 you are assuming some libraries are available and are
setting some flags which seem to be compiler-specific. It would be good
to add proper checks there.
