Opera 6.02 (for Linux) works fine for me. You're probably doing
something wrong. Ask support questions on the appropriate mailinglists.

set_cookie() with the path omitted causes problems with Opera 6.02 and
Konqueror 3.0.1 also, they get the cookie and save it but never send it
to the site.
