New Comment:
I've taken to using the CGI interface instead (after awhile of
struggling because of stupidity...)
I'm closing this and submitting how to set up php using the CGI
interface for Sambar.
1) Associate the filetype .php (or whatever extension(s) you are using)
with the php cgi executable. You may do this using the "Open file with
application..." dialog opened when attempting to open a php file,
assuming you havn't allready selected some other app to open it with,
and browsing to the cgi executable, and checking the 'allways use this
program to open this filetype' or whatever it says...something similar
to that...
2) In the sambar administration panel, goto "CGI Extensions" and make
sure to add *.php (that was the part I was stupid about and frogot...as
I just thought of php as being interpreted by the cgi...).
-or-
you may open up config.ini and add the *.php part to the CGI Extensions
key. Example (my own line):
CGI Extensions = *.php
I think that's it...my server is running smooth now or I'd try the
ISAPI forms to help check the problem...however, I _DO_ want to keep my
site up as much as possible, and hence must refrain from downloading
the quite possibly buggy beta (altough I think they release the 5.2
version non beta today...) and tinkering with my cgi settings again.

I'm having similar issues with PHP 4.4.2.
Each time it views the page with <? phpinfo(); ?>, it loads half of it,
then reboots.
MySQL is also being run on the server.

Hi,
could you please upgrade your sambar version to at least 5.2b1 and
retry?

Secondly - I've seen reports on this happening when MySQL is installed
on the same machine in combination with ISAPI interfaces. If you
uninstall MySQL, and use another computer for the that, does the error
disappear?

I set everything up using the CGI interface (after a long series of
strugles trying to get my server to recognize php as a script...) and
it works fine that way.

Allright, it seems that viewing any PHP page has a chance of crashing
my system. Here is a list of specs..
Compaq Presario
600mhz PII
256MB Ram
14GB Hard Drive
MySQL Server 4.1
Sambar 5.0 server
and I just downloaded PHP from this site.
This machine has no other software installed on it.
Upon viewing any php page, there is a chance of making the computer
suddenly reboot. This only happens if you are viewing the page from a
computer other than the one it is hosted on. I am using the ISAPI
method of running it. This error dosnt occur with non php pages, and
seems totally random on the server. Sometimes it will crash the server
like this as soon as the page is requested, other times I'll be left
with half of the document (which is rare). I am going to attempt to
install the CGI interface, but I thought I ought to inform you of the
problem beforehand. I have not been able to get any debug info from my
server relating in any way to it. Even the simple phpinfo.php page (
<% phpinfo(); %> ) crashes it. Please help!!! Thank you!!!
-Mike
