Bug Type: Session related
Operating System: W2K (NT5)
PHP Version: 4.2.2
New Comment:
There are known cookie problems (and others as well) in PHP's Apache 2
support in version 4.2.x. Try the latest unstable snapshot from
snaps.php.net/win32. Basically Apache2 support is just not here yet.
If you want a stable system, use Apache1.

I am running apache 2.0.39 with PHP 4.2.2.(zip version downloaded from
website) on a windows 2K box. I tried to get webcalander 0.9.37, 0.9.39
to work (sourceforge) - it would work with the php.exe cgi version,
but would not work using the php4apache2.dll.
The problem was that the webcalander issued a cookie when someone
logged on and tracked the session using that with the php4apache2.dll
it seems that the cookie is incorrect/or not sent/or tracking variables
not set properly - so that the user is returned to the logon screen.
I don't know which of the above is the real reason for the problem -
but I have a work around (cgi version) which I am using.
I thought that I should report the problem since it would be better to
use the php4apache.dll, and since I wanted to know whether others have
experiecned this problem.
By the way I think this problem could be related to: Bug #17459 dual
bug
