I don't reproduce this with 5.6+ by using just while(1); as a script. It might be, that some other code in your script or in a non-core extensions blocks the interrupt signal. But we need an exact reproduce case to be able to debug this. This is kind of problematic for a development server since you can't expect to have finished code that performs fast to be there.
