I get PHP from the opensuse devel:languages:php repository.
function_exists will return false.
This behaviour started with a recent update.
phpinfo() shows GD and freetype support installed.
The function imagettfbbox does exist, but the function imagettftext
seems to silently fail. My guess is that it uses imageftbbox.
