Indeed, this has been implemented for PHP 7.3.

Should have been named "nanotime" though.

Many architectures/operating systems support nanosecond resolution timing. Is there any plan on
adding this in the future? (ie. clock_gettime() IEEE Std 1003.1b-1993)
