Operating System: Windows 2003
-PHP Version: 4.3.5RC3
+PHP Version: 4.3.5RC4-dev
New Comment:
I'm unable to reproduce this bug on my home WinXP PC (this build works
OK with test scripts), but on the my main Win2003 server this build
also causes fault:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: (100)
Event ID: 1000
Date: 20.02.2004
Time: 4:56:48
User: N/A
Description:
Faulting application php.exe, version 4.3.5.5, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.0, fault address 0x00007300.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at

And there are huge number of such records in the Event log.
I again returned to 4.3.4, and no more errors.
I can't detect what script causes this fault. There to many PHP scripts
running on this server (PhpBB, WackoWiki, BitrixSitemanager, PhpWiki,
etc) in the same time, and about 10-20 users online. So web-server log
files grows fast and have many entries for each time of faulting record
in Event log...

Please try using this CVS snapshot:
http://snaps.php.net/php4-STABLE-latest.tar.gz
For Windows:
http://snaps.php.net/win32/php4-win32-STABLE-latest.zip
I can NOT reproduce anything like this..
Does it happen with some script or what?

No, I first renamed directory with the old 4.3.4 version (to be able
backup...), and installed 3.4.5RC into the new empty directory. No any
old dlls used.

You need to remove ALL old PHP related dlls before you install the new
PHP version. You're now getting clash with old php4ts.dll most
likely..or old extension you're loading in php.ini..etc..

There is a problem here. I am seeing something similar
from my event log
Faulting application php.exe, version 4.3.5.5, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.0, fault address 0x00007300.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Get the same result in 4.3.5 RC2 and RC3 but 4.3.4 works with no crash
My system is Windows 2003 (fully patched at time of submission) and
produces the above logevent/crash when executing die() in an existing
script (wont post as its about 4000 lines in total).
However my attempts to isolate have not been sucessful so far as a test
script which performs only Die() does not crash.

There no Zend optimizer on this Server...
> Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PHP itself.
This is PHP.EXE itself: "application php.exe, version 4.3.5.5, faulting
module ntdll.dll" - so, php calls something in windows incorrectly. And
there no such bug in the all previous PHP versions!
