 New Comment:

Apologies, I've been very busy elsewhere for the last few weeks.
I tried retrieving http://snaps.php.net/php5-latest.tar.gz just now
(20051230 1100CET), but got a 404. I'll be trying out
http://snaps.php.net/php5.1-200512300930.tar.gz
instead, which I'm
assuming will have the problem fixes from back in November too.

Please try using this CVS snapshot:

  http://snaps.php.net/php5-latest.tar.gz

For Windows:

  http://snaps.php.net/win32/php5-win32-latest.zip

Oops, sorry about that. Have now tried
http://snaps.php.net/php5-latest.tar.gz - no
change, problem remains.

Please use the EXACT same url's as asked to. You were asked to try the
latest, not 'stable'.

I should add - I am now getting a line with "no acceptable variant:"
for part1 in my apache2 error-log.
