Thank you for taking the time to report a problem with PHP.
Unfortunately you are not using a current version of PHP --
the problem might already be fixed. Please download a new
PHP version from http://www.php.net/downloads.php
If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest
versions of PHP, please change the PHP version on this bug report
to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open".
Again, thank you for your continued support of PHP.

Description:
------------
If session.bug_compat_42 is 1, and I execute the code in a web page,
loading the page causes a segmentation fault.
Changing session.bug_compat_42 to 0, allows the page to load without
problems.
PHP version: 5.0.4
OS version: SLES 9 i686
Reproduce code:
---------------
$page = basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);
Expected result:
----------------
$page would contain the webpage base name, e.g. '/webpage.php'.
Actual result:
--------------
empty page
