not quite. stddef.h is included with gcc and will appear somewhere like
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.4/include/stddef.h or
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66/include/stddef.h
(do a 'locate stddef.h' on a linux box to find it.)
linux/stddef.h is just a little stub header used by the kernel.
it is distinct from <stddef.h>.
