Hi, I'm trying to recompile mod_php3 to use the Informix functions. I can get the compilation to work (seemingly), but when I try to start Apache running with the new mod_php3, I get the error message "Cannot load /usr/libexec/apache/libphp3.so into server: /opt/informix/lib/esql/libifos.so: undefined symbol: ifx_checkAPI" and apache will not start. I can get mod_php3 to compile and run if I leave out the Informix functions. I talked to Informix tech support about this. They said that ifx_checkAPI is defined in the file /opt/informix/lib/esql/checkapi.o, which I have. The apache startup script defines LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/informix/lib:/opt/informix/lib/esql , I also have these library paths compiled into ld.so.cache. Informix tech support couldn't really tell me anything else other than saying that my version of apache wasn't officially supported. I'm using Caldera Linux eServer 2.3 for my operating system, Informix Foundation 2000 with Client SDK 2.40.UC1-2 for my Informix setup, apache 1.3.9-4, and php 3.0.16. Apache has been provided through rpms; I'm only compiling php from source. I've set INFORMIXDIR and INFORMIXSERVER in the environment, and put /opt/informix/bin in the PATH. I use ./configure with --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-ldap --with-xml --with-informix=yes - -enable-versioning --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf . Can anyone help me with this one? I'm stuck.
