Hi all,
I'm not sure if I should ask this question in this group, but since I'm
using PHP in the process, I thought someone might be able to help me.
Anyways. I'm in charge of creating an intranet webzine for my school and
I've been working on the server-side for a while. I want to know if there
is anyway that I could map the IP of the server (internal IP on the local
network) with a name like http://intranet/ and have sub ips like
http://math.intranet/. I tried reading about DNS, but it seems
that it only
works for internet addresses and involves registrations of a domain name.
Has anyone done this before? If yes, what are the system requirements and
is there anywhere that I can learn how to do it.
Thanks in advance,
Ali
