Oracle's pricing policy for Web/Internet licenses is based on the number and
speed of the CPUs in the server and not the number of users. They call it
"Power Unit Pricing". Many web software vendors have adopted a similar
pricing scheme.

Subject: [PHP-DB] php/oracle web site
Hi, I was wondering if anybody built and host a oracle/php/linux web site
out there. I was surprised to learn that to move my web site to production
i'd have to pay $110000 for a Oracle 8i EE license. I am using only one user
account in oracle on one single server! If anyone has a similar experience
please let me know! I though the named user single license perpetual would
be good enought for my needs. Gee im thinking of moving to tab delimited
format ;)
Thanks for any help!
Mike
