Hi Nicholas & *:
Our NT server's name is PANTHER.
On my interfaces file I just had defined:
servernt
query tcp ether 158.234.48.71 1433
master tcp ether 158.234.48.71 1433
And I didn't worry about to use the exact name since here I was specifying
the IP address and port number, and I was using
$conn = mssql_connect("servernt", "username", "password");
With this settings I tried to connect and didn't receive any errors but
the connection was falling down.
So, I just tried the "network name" of the server. Instead of "servernt" I
wrote "PANTHER" on my interfaces file and mssql_connect function. And
everything was fine!
I was very surprised since I was thinking that the really important thing
was the definition on interfaces file.
Just make sure the name you are using on your interfaces file and calling
mssql_connect is the same the server is presented as on your network.
It worked to me. I just hope you can get some result trying that.
Regards,
