images in oracle database?

Hello, I've found already lots of information about storing images in a mysql or a postgres database, but i can't find any information about storing a image in an oracle database with a sql statement. Addslashes is only designed for mysql and postgres i think, oracle uses another way of quoting. Can anyone explain me how to get an image into the database with a sql statement from php, or point me to a nice example? Thanx in advance, Dries Verachtert
