Using OCIDefineByName as follows: OCIDefineByName($stmt,"USERID",&$userid); produces this error: Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of ocidefinebyname(). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer. in d:\w3dev\oratest2.php on line 9 This is using PHP4.02-dev [windows], and OCI8. Database is 7.3.4. I'm unclear as to what the error/warning message is trying to say. How should I modify my ocidefinebyname() call? I do not wish to set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in my php.ini file simply since this feature won't be supported in future versions. TIA, /vjl/
