Have you installed an configured an Oracle client?
Can you connect via SQL*Plus or something similiar (ODBC, tnsping) from
outside of PHP.
PHP (and all other Oracle using software) requires to have the Oracle client
installed. This should be your first step.
You can download the latest 8.0.x clients from technet.oracle.com
If you want to use PHP4 go to www.php4win.de and download their binaries but
you will need to get Oracle 8.1.6 (200MB +) from technet.oracle.com to use
the oracle .dll supplied

Subject: php3.0.16 oracle connectivity problem on IIS 5.0 / win 2000
hi all
greetings
please help me - badly in need of ur support....
i am not able to connect to oracle 8.0 server. the error what i get is
"Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function ocilogon() in
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\php\ereg\testorcon.php on line 8"
i have php 3.0.16 configured to IIS 5 on win 2000 professional, oracle8.0
client .
i have the php3_oci80.dll, php3_oci73.dll in my c:\php directory. the
extension entries are uncommented for auto loading the modules in php3.ini
situated in c:\winnt directory.
i have added c:\php in my PATH variable.
i faced the same problem with php4 too. the extract of php4.0.0-win32.zip
does not contain any dll targetting oracle (for example php3_oci80.dll in
php 3). why is it so? is there any other dll satisfying the purpose?
waiting for a helpful reply
deepaks
