Although your question is not really database-related, here's what I have
done recently with a page of my own:
if(test condition here)
{
header("Location:
http://localhost/spidey/public/home.html");
}
Seems to work just fine for what I need it to do. Should work just fine for
an external URL (www.something.com) as well. I'm just running it in a test
environment currently. I suppose you could also use a SWITCH statement
instead of an IF statement if you know what the results should be.

Ok, here is another dumb newbie question, based on what the user enters for
a username, I want to direct them to one of three different sites...is this
even close? I am getting errors but am not sure if it is a simple fix or if
it is all wrong...The username is sent from a form from the previous page.
Thanks,
Eddie
