Krznaric,
I am running Apache and PHP on a different server to the main
Oracle instance. All I did was compile it up myself with the
--with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME and it worked without
much problem.
If you can type:
"sqlplus <username>/<password>@<database>"
and it connects to the database on the remote machine then you're
fine. PHP will know how to do that by compiling in the Oracle
libaraies.
