Hi guys,
I have been asked to investigate proting our entire web development base
from sybase's PowerDynamo over to php4, with the purpose that php can still
talk to sybase, but also to oracle et al.
What do I need to do to compile php4 with this support? I can
compile --with-sybase, but I don't have oracle handy (linux webserver not
big enough!) I was thinking of doing both sybase and oracle connections
using odbc, rather that the native interfaces.
I know this has performance drawbacks, but I really need to so something
quickly as I have to have a working demo pretty soon so the developers can
start porting.
a) What drivers/libraries do I need to compile php4 with odbc support?
I'm a bit lost about the difference between iodbc and openlink...do I even
need them?
b) Is it possible to obtain just enough of the oracle files needed to
compile php with oracle support? Is there a precompiled module I can use,
like the dll on windows? (If none of the above...could someone with oracle
compile a php module I can use?? :) :) :) :)
Thanks heaps for your help
