If you already have your applications running using MySQL you may want to
try Metabase PHP database abstraction. MySQL and Oracle are very different
and Metabase can make things work more like MySQL but once adapted to work
with Metabase it will work Oracle and many other supported DBMS without
changing a line of PHP code.
For instance, have you ever wondered how to make Oracle work like you can
with MySQL LIMIT select clause? Don't wonder too much because you might
fuse! :-) Metabase will make that work with a single function call before
executing the query you want to limit the retrieved results and it will
work with MySQL, Oracle, Informix, Interbase, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL server,
mini-SQL, ODBC, Sybase and whatever DBMS is supported by Metabase now and
real time soon.
