Yvonne,
The problem here is that altering the html document dynamically is something
that happens on the client side, so you're limited to client-side
technologies: Javascript, VBscript, Java applets, and Active-X. Of those,
the only ones which might potentially offer dbase connectivity are Java
applets and Active-X. Frankly, I have no idea where to even start getting
that going, and I'm betting the effort isn't worth it.
One other potential solution would be to store all the data in the table in
some kind of Javascript variables/arrays/whatever. But you'd have to sort
out how to organize the data so it's retreivable, and I'm sure the page
would become god-awfully slow if you had anything more than a small data
set.
Add on all the potential compatibility issues you get into with client-side
scripting, and I think it's probably a better idea to rethink your approach.
A couple possiblities: you could have the page reload with the new data upon
selecting something from the dropdown, or you could just make the user
select an option from the dropdown before proceeding to the page with the
other form fields.
Good luck!
