Hello all,
i am about to start a large project that has some heavy requirements and are
evaluating the use of Interbase.
Every1 on th web seems to like it and the i coudlnt find a single negative
comment.. on the othe rhand the PHP support for this DB seems to be lacking
fundamental functions like some "NUMROWS" to get the count of the results, and
the ability to get results in a arbitrary order (like you would do specifying
the row number with the postgres functions in PHP)
I know there are classes and libs (in php ) that support these functions by
first retriving all the results and then prividing you with a simnple array.
but this would simply kill performances on a serious system.
Something else that seems to be lacking is the ability to know the ID if the
LAST INSERTED object (Something that is specifically supported by the postgres
functions in PHP)
Any knows about plan for futher developing PHP support for interbase? Interbase
IS the database most people would want to use..
Any comment about this will be appreciated.
Sincerely
Giovanni Tummarello
